With a case sculpted in aluminium—a material almost twice as light as titanium, the new DS Podium GMT Chronograph brings colourful new options to the Certina line of sporty, original timepieces. Dressed in bright Certina green and light enough to accompany the most active of lifestyles, it carries the well-known, supremely accurate ETA Precidrive movement with GMT function (for a second time zone) and full 12-hour, 60-min. and 60-sec. timing.
The DS Podium GMT Aluminium unites the finest in both original design and cutting-edge technology. Its highly-precise ETA Precidrive GMT quartz movement is housed inside a lightweight 42 mm aluminium case which, thanks to an innovative surface-finishing process, wears the bright new Certina green colour. Inside, the GMT movement offers tracking of a second time zone, standard timing functions such as 60 min. and 60 sec., as well as full 12-hour timing with Start-Stop and Add/Split functions. A date window is placed at 6 o’clock for optimal legibility.
An aluminium case is not only extremely lightweight but it opens up new and exciting design options. The primary model in this product line is bright green but red and sand-coloured versions are also available, with the same highly-durable, scratch-resistant anodization surface treatment. Colours to match the discerning preferences of every watch lover.
Behind the black bezel with green tachymeter scale and the resistant, sport-ready sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both faces, the black dial wears chronograph hands in contrasting green. The hour, minute and 24 h/GMT hands are treated with Superluminova, as are the timepiece’s indices and Arabic numerals. The protected crown is monogrammed with the letters “DS”, also in green, for a stylish touch that underlines Certina’s well-known attention to detail.
The DS Podium GMT Aluminium is water-resistant to a pressure of 10 bar (100 m), and is equipped with the Certina DS Concept, for maximum reliability. Its ETA Precidrive movement carries a practical EOL (end-of-life) warning system. Both the green and red models come equipped with a moulded black rubber strap with pin clasp, while the sand-coloured version is delivered with a white strap.
