Geneva International Music Competition 2012
Lorenzo Soulès receives the Breguet “Coup de Coeur” Prize
From Friday 2 to Thursday 15 November 2012 and for the eleventh consecutive year, Montres Breguet SA lent its support to the Geneva International Music Competition as the main sponsor. Breguet awarded an indisputably talented young musician its “Coup de Coeur” special prize offering him the chance to record a CD.
This year, the Geneva International Music Competition was entirely dedicated to piano. The contestants performed their art during public sessions including a chamber music final and an orchestra final. At the end of the competition, several prizes were awarded.
Breguet rewarded the 20-year-old pianist Lorenzo Soulès who received its “Coup de Coeur” special prize. The young artist magnificently interpreted the piano concerto N°2 in B-flat major, Op. 83 by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897). His performance earned him as well the first prize of the Geneva International Music Competition with the privilege of receiving a Breguet timepiece.
Through its special partnership with the Geneva International Music Competition, Breguet intends to support young virtuosi and to develop their already promising artistic career. This year, Breguet was glad to offer the four members of the Quatuor Hermès who won the Breguet “Coup de Coeur” prize in 2011 their first CD.
