The Classique Chronométrie unveils its strengths in Hong Kong

On Thursday, August 8, 2013, Breguet Hong Kong presented to the press the Classique Chronométrie 7727, the flagship timepiece of this year. Breguet invited the most influential local journalists for lunch at the famous gastronomic restaurant The Chariot Club, where they had the opportunity to discover the secrets of this innovative watch.

The 7th of November, 2010, Breguet filed a patent devoted to the magnetic pivot. After several years of research, this revolutionary invention not only allows the manufacture to set a new milestone in watchmaking history but also a new level in its search for perfection.

Inserted in the model Breguet Classique Chronométrie 7727, the magnetic pivot relies on two endstrones, each fitted with a micro-magnet, at either end of the balance staff, in order to keep the balance staff centred and self-adjusting. Held in an artificial gravitational force, the balance staff is unaffected by the different positions of the watch and the conditions at each pivot remain unchanged. The result is a balance staff that is insensitive to gravity, more stable and resistant to shocks.
