Breguet and the Geneva International Music Competition: A Shared Passion

Breguet and the Geneva International Music Competition: A Shared Passion

For 11 years, Montres Breguet SA lends its support to the Geneva International Music Competition. This unique long-term partnership undeniably shows Breguet’s determination to support young musical talents and thereby promote art and culture. It also brings to mind the fact that famous composers and musicians – such as Gioachino Rossini, Arthur Rubinstein and Sergei Rachmaninov – were unconditional admirers and owners of Breguet watches.

The 67th edition of the Geneva International Music Competition, which will take place from Friday 2 to Thursday 15 November 2012, is entirely dedicated to piano. 47 young pianists coming from 16 different countries will perform their art during public sessions. A jury, composed of 9 piano specialists from all over the world, as well as discerning music-lovers from Montres Breguet SA, will assess the contestants.

At the end of the contest, Breguet will present its special « Coup de Cœur » prize, which enables the winner in one of two contest categories to finance the production of a recording. Breguet hopes to contribute in this way to the international promotion and success of the next generation of musicians.
