Watches & Wonders 2015: a positive result
According to the organizers, the show, which opened in Hong Kong under somewhat inauspicious economic conditions, ultimately kept all its promises.
The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie announced it had welcomed around twelve important watch brands during the four-day event, plus about 20,000 visitors, including 700 representatives from Asian media. This audience was composed mainly of distributors and end-customers, who were graciously invited.
In the final analysis, the visitors themselves demonstrated the solid basis of the show by the visible pleasure they took in browsing through the open stands, by their enthusiasm for organized visits and by their eagerness to attend the conferences or look into the exhibitions organized under the aegis of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie. The harvest was excellent, and sampling it gave us the opportunity to glimpse the vitality of the Asia-Pacific region.
And to conclude: there were those who suggested changing the frequency of the show and making it biennial, but at any rate, for this third edition, the passion was present. And it's a passion that could well bolster the momentum of the recovery that appears to be on the horizon and should carry the SIHH 2016 .... To be continued!
