Since its inception in 2015, Dubai Watch Week’s Horology Forum has gained a reputation for igniting fresh dialogue within the watch world.

However, it’s never just been about watches. It’s about spreading the culture and deepening the knowledge surrounding horology.

This year, the 10th edition of the Horology Forum, dubbed HF.10, will take place in Hong Kong for the first time and run from Tuesday, October 22nd until Thursday, October 24th, 2024.

HF.10: Horology Forum Hong Kong

The forum reaches into culture, technology, and business, bringing together a diverse mix of experts to discuss everything from design trends to the future of mechanical innovation.

Thus, it is no surprise that, with its upcoming debut in Hong Kong, HF.10 will immerse itself in Asia’s thriving luxury watch scene, with ambitions to extend its reach into China and beyond.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Horology Forum to Hong Kong,” Hind Seddiqi, Director General of Dubai Watch Week, told Watchonista. “It’s a major step in connecting with a new, discerning audience and evolving the platform while keeping its unique DNA intact. It’s all about bringing the global watch community closer.”

Panels, Lectures, Masterclasses, and More

What sets the Horology Forum apart is its flair for shaking things up by inviting watch industry insiders to speak alongside influencers and thought leaders from outside the horological bubble.

This year’s star-studded speakers include Carson Chan, who’s set to lead a panel on East Asia’s watchmaking scene, and Mark Cho, co-founder of The Armoury, who will explore the recent surge of interest in vintage luxury.

Other highlights will include a 60-minute crash course on how to launch a watch brand, led by Revolution magazine’s Wei Koh, and Tim Mosso’s keynote tracing over 300 years of watchmaking evolution.

Expect thought-provoking discussions like “Perpetual Puzzles,” which explores whether mechanical innovation still has a future, and “To Infinity & Beyond,” where experts will discuss what the next big breakthrough in watchmaking might be.
