Rolex event in Madrid: Giorgia and Guido Mondani explain the Rolex Explorer Freccione
Madrid, November 15th, 2012- The "Joyería Grassy", at the number 1 of the Gran Via (the capital's main street), invited Giorgia Mondani to talk about the Rolex Explorer in an exhibition dedicated to this model and to the fantastic Oyster case.
The showroom, open until the 8th of December, shows and retraces the main models of Explorer and Pre Explorer which have defined the watchmaking and the exploration's hystory.
A lot of wonderful models are exposed, rare examples craved by the collectors.
A wide space is dedicated to the Oyster case: its born, its use, its costruction, the innovations, etc.
A really interesting show, in a very elegant and cosy setting,none collectors could not miss it.
Yann Reznak,director of Grassy, inveted Giorgia Mondani to the event to go into depth on the matter of Explorer, and Javier Del Pino and Wladimiro Arjona (members of Rolex España), to talk about the Oyster Case.
We chose to focus our presentetion on one of the principle model of Explorer's production: the character 1665(Explorer II, commonly known as Freccione or Steve Mc Queen.
Giorgia Mondani explained the origin of these nicknemes and stated all the sort of existing dials, bezels, hands,cases and case back.
Tracing all the techinical details that characterize all the Freccione's versions (marks),s he also illustrated the differences of prices which any single details can generate.
The public was curious and interested in this matter because the notions dealt by Giorgia Mondani are not known by everybody and whereupon it's really important for the value of the watch.
We reminded again how important is being informed and up-to-date, before purchasing or selling a Rolex.
The audience was very glad and surprised to see that Giorgia Mondani was accompanied by her father Guido, the real specialist of Rolex, who at the last minute decided to join up this important event.
Guido, at the table of the other speakers and his daughter, the Rolex members and Yann Reznak, has drew the attention of the collectors and the members of the Grassy's staff, who have made many questions about particular models of Rolex.
Guido Mondani answered everybods questions and he revealed many curiosities of techincal details not so easy to recognize. Collectors were very impressed by his speech and they appreciated and leafed through the Mondani editions displayed by Grassy.
Afterwards, the word spread to Wladimiro Arjona, who explained the structure of the Oyster case, showing the differences between the first and the last models, the innovations and the manufacturing process. From this participation came out, one more time, that Rolex is always the indisputed leader.
The night over with a pleasant cocktail, with some good wine and delicious food, in company with real Rolex lovers, like us.
