Precursor of the sports timekeeper

Under the spotlight in the whole world, this work marks its time. During the 2012 Olympic Games, the watchmaker Richard Mille benefited from media coverage due to the three gold medals won by Yohan Blake. This watch reflects the colours of the Jamaican flag; the flange and the crown are green and both the minute-markers and the velcro wristlet are yellow, the whole contrasting with the sober white case. As for the sophisticated caliber, it consists of 19 rubies.

Coming back to the case of the watch, it must be noted that it is made from an extremely robust alloy, which represents one of the current lightest manufacturing metals. After a long and delicate machining phase, this alloy is subject to an exclusive Richard Mille electro-plasma oxidation procedure.

This plating improves the alloy’s hardness and consequently, improves its resistance to shocks and corrosion. For the first time in the sprint history, the manufacture tested this piece in extreme conditions to guarantee its resistance, performance and comfort. The result is a watch particularly adapted to the specificities required for sprinting.
