After Basel, I was supposed to review the Speedmaster 60th Anniversary. This would be my opportunity to wear one of my favorite watches from that year’s show.
However, during a trip to Venice, Italy my desires shifted, and I found myself determined to buy the watch instead of merely taking it for a spin. This personal story about acquiring my dream Speedmaster 60thAnniversary is still one of our most viewed articles on Watchonista. While not technically eligible for Best of 2018 (published Oct 2017), it's still a great piece of reading.

Yes, I still have the 60thAnniversary Speedmaster, and the vintage Speedy purchased from a watch shop in Lausanne. How a failed purchase in Venice turned into two watches that I still own made this such a fun journey.
A year later, I still get asked about this review. It's touching that people read what I write, and it gives some inspiration to continue to tell the stories which interest us.
