Shining Example: DOXA Unveils The SUB 200 Whitepearl

The Swiss brand DOXA, renowned for its pioneering dive watches, has released the first ever SUB model to feature a white dial and strap.

When you think of DOXA, two things often spring to mind. Its rich dive watch heritage inspired by the brand’s pioneering dive watches of the late 1960s and expressed through the iconic cushion-cased designs of much of its current collection. And its ample offering of dial and strap colors.

Indeed, part of DOXA’s allure has not just been the distinctive look, technical attributes, and value-for-money price point of its watches, but also the fact owners can make a bold, personal style choice.

When choosing between the SUB 200, SUB 300, and SUB 1500T, customers are able to pick an “Aquamarine” turquoise, “Divingstar” yellow, “Caribbean” navy, “Searambler” gray, “Sharkhunter” black, or a “Professional” orange dial, and pair it with a classic beads-of-rice bracelet or supple rubber strap in the same tone as the dial (or a black rubber strap in the case of a “Searambler” gray dial).

Want dark and understated, or bright and highly readable underwater, or something just casual, fun, and funky? DOXA has you covered each time.

Cool, Crisp White Dial

Today, the possibility to make a DOXA reflect your style and personality has increased yet again with the unveiling of the SUB 200 Whitepearl, which sees the versatile three-handed SUB 200 given a cool and crisp white dial accompanied either by a beads-of-rice bracelet or a sporty white rubber strap. It is the first DOXA SUB ever to feature a white dial and strap.

Already, we know that the SUB 200 is a winner. When Watchonista took the SUB 200 Aquamarine winter kayaking, we found its round, 42mm stainless steel case highly wearable, even on slim wrists. It also has the design smarts with its “glass box” sapphire crystal and sculpted lugs that have been brushed and polished.

And the SUB 200 has the dive credentials, too: a unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown, and engraved screw-down caseback, plus 200m water resistance. What’s more, powering the hour, minute, second, and date indications is the ETA 2824-2 automatic caliber, rarely found in a watch priced under CHF 1,000. This robust and reliable movement means SUB 200 is unlikely to let you down.

Refreshing, Ice-White Twist

The SUB 200 Whitepearl takes all the assets of the SUB 200 and gives them a refreshing, ice-white twist.

The immaculate dial is remarkable for the purity of its two-tone displays with the outer minute track painted in black and the black hands and applied, darkened brass hour indices treated with a bright white Super-LumiNova for excellent readability in low-light diving conditions. This theme carries over to the sapphire insert of the notched steel bezel, with black markings over a glacial, white background.

While the SUB 200 Whitepearl works superbly as a smart, simple dive watch, it really comes into its own when worn as a light and radiant daily wearer, as the images here amply demonstrate. Moreover, it’s very much a unisex piece, looking as cool and casual on him as it does on her, either when fitted with DOXA’s signature “rice bead” mesh bracelet or the wrist-hugging white rubber strap.

Pricing & Availability

The SUB 200 Whitepearl with steel bracelet and folding buckle featuring diver’s extension is priced at CHF 990. And with the standard or small-sized white rubber strap with a pin buckle, it is priced at CHF 950.

You can find it available for purchase on DOXA’s website.
