Dubai Watch Week: Hublot’s Big Bang All Black & Big Bang Titanium Grey Ahmed Seddiqi 75th Anniversary Models

Dubai Watch Week set the perfect backdrop for Hublot to honor two big birthdays.

Somehow, 2025 seems like an unusually significant year for anniversaries in the watch world. MB&F, Roger Dubuis, NOMOS Glashütte, Czapek, Audemars Piguet, Zenith, Panerai, TAG Heuer, Chopard, Breguet, Vacheron Constantin, Blancpain, and Hublot all notched milestone birthdays as brands, and then there were specific model anniversaries too.

For instance, Hublot not only celebrates 45 years as a Maison but also 20 years of its most iconic model, the Big Bang. So far, we’ve seen a whopping six Big Bang anniversary editions alongside two wild Big Bang box sets (one of sapphires and one of high complications). As the year comes to a close, Dubai Watch Week seems like the perfect venue for the brand to roll out another.

Alongside the countless Maisons listed, Ahmed Seddiqi – the Middle East’s premier luxury watch and jewelry retailer and the creator and host of Dubai Watch Week – is also ringing in a big anniversary: 75 years.

Hublot seized the opportunity to bring the best of both brands into not one but two models: the Big Bang All Black Ahmed Seddiqi 75th Anniversary and the Big Bang Titanium Grey Ahmed Seddiqi 75th Anniversary.

No Such Thing as Too Many Celebrations

In addition to the many Big Bang special editions we’ve seen this year, we also saw Hublot introduce its first homage to Seddiqi back in September.

For that model, the Maison used its Classic Fusion line as the palette with two models centered around a rich burgundy hue: the Classic Fusion Titanium Diamonds Seddiqi 75th Anniversary and the Classic Fusion Titanium Seddiqi 75th Anniversary. This pair draws inspiration from Seddiqi’s anniversary logo as well as elements that pay tribute to Emirati culture.

Now, we get another pair with an entirely different look and feel that’s distinctly sportier and distinctly Big Bang. Like its Classic Fusion predecessors, traditional Arabic numerals honoring the region’s heritage grace the dial, but things diverge from there.

The Latest Dubai Watch Week Anniversary Editions

With the two newest Seddiqi limited editions, you have the Big Bang in all its glory, from the instantly recognizable porthole-shaped case to the visible H-screws adorning the bezel. Between the two editions, we also get the material play that has become a signature of the line.

For the Big Bang All Black Ahmed Seddiqi 75th Anniversary, we get a combination of micro-blasted black ceramic coupled with a trademark black rubber strap. Alternatively, for the Big Bang Titanium Grey Ahmed Seddiqi 75th Anniversary, we get – you guessed it – a lightweight satin-finished titanium build topped off with a silvered rubber strap.

Both models offer a monochromatic aesthetic with the Big Bang All Black Ahmed Seddiqi 75th Anniversary sticking true to its name with an entirely noir palette. On the other hand, the Big Bang Titanium Grey Ahmed Seddiqi 75th Anniversary gets some subtle contrast with rose gold accents, as seen in the H-screws, pushers, indices, and hands, as well as varying shades of grey.

Despite the somewhat one-note and, dare I say, somewhat reserved color choices by Big Bang standards, Hublot creates movement, depth, and interest through texture and finishing. In both versions, the dial features a stamped satin-finished “carbon effect” that offers a checkerboard appearance. This design is mimicked as it extends to the rubber strap, which showcases a similar geometric grid pattern.

The subtle touches celebrating Seddiqi’s 75th anniversary milestone even extend to the movement.

An Homage from the Outside In

Powering both models is the self-winding HUB1280 calibre, which offers a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. When it was released in 2018, the HUB1280, a.k.a. the Unico 2, represented a significant evolution of the Maison’s Unico calibre, marking a new generation of automatic chronographs with a flyback function in Hublot’s catalog.

The HUB1280’s architecture retained the essence of its predecessor while introducing several enhancements and modifications thanks to five patents. The modernized design also allowed for a slimmer profile, reducing its thickness from 8.05mm to 6.75mm.

In turn, this allows for a wider range of case sizes and builds, like the 43mm cases we see here in the Seddiqi limited editions. As a cherry on top, both commemorative models come equipped with a 4N 22-karat gold oscillating weight engraved with “Ahmed Seddiqi 75th Anniversary.”
