We caught up with Seddiqi Group CEO Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi (with a videographer in tow) so we could get a tour of this exciting new retail experience and delve into its unique, ground-breaking curatorial approach.

With a retail selection strategy more akin to creating an auction catalog than a mere certified pre-owned shopping venue, the organization’s Rolex CPO boutique (officially opened at the end of November) takes the growth of Rolex-certified pre-owned shopping to a new, very high level.
Comprising a kind of CPO boutique-within-a-boutique, the 290-square-foot salon in Dubai’s Wafi City luxury shopping facility currently has more than 100 extremely rare pre-owned Rolex examples on display. Each has been twice-certified (in-house by Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons’ experts and also shipped to Switzerland for official Rolex certification), with more equally desirable Rolex models already in the certification pipeline.
Still, it is the organization’s special approach to product curation that really defines the impact of this new retail experience.
“We worked with Rolex for over two years on this project and quickly decided to think out-of-the-box and go beyond typical pre-owned professional Rolex models,” Mohammed Abdulmagied told Watchonista.
“Of course, hunting down rare, exceptional Rolex pieces – the kind that aren’t readily available anywhere – was a challenge,” he continued. “Also, going to the secondary market, you often find Rolex models that have been customized and modified by their owners.”
If you look at our Rolex Day-Date CPO models alone, you will see Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and various European executions, so to build this collection, we really had to travel the globe,” he concludes.
