International juries

Chaired by Aurel Bacs, international director of Christie Suisse watch department, the Jury is made up of 8 representatives of the media, namely the journalists Elizabeth Doerr, Jean-Philippe Arm and Carlos Alonso from Mexico, 2 collectors artists, 1 architect, 1 renowned designer, Philippe Starck, 2 historians and maybe even a third one if we include the horology book editor Antoine Simonin, 1 expert in horology as well as the most demanded collector, Claude Sfeir. And yes, Moritz Elsaesser…. a service watchmaker. Phew, at least one ! Unlike the other prizes, such as the Prix « Montre de l’Année » from the magazine of Ringier « Montres Passion » which makes its choices without the consent of the brands, only the registered watches may participate in the GPHG. This is an important precision because during the evening, which is largely sponsored by the local authorities, the not-always-informed public may wonder about the absence of a few important Genevan brands.
