Audrain and A. Lange & Söhne are Gearing Up for the Next Newport Concours d’Elegance

This fall’s can’t-miss car and motor show is set to kick off its fifth edition and its sophomore year of sponsorship by German watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne in October, proving, once again, that the intersection of classic cars and haute horology is, indeed, profound.

With the now-confirmed partnership of German watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne set to continue for the 2024 event, the annual Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance car show takes on even more gravitas – especially for those who carry a love of unmatched classic automobiles and fine timepieces.

Scheduled to run from Wednesday, October 3rd, to Sunday, October 6th, in Newport, Rhode Island, the Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance is among the top Concours events for car fans.

Of course, A. Lange & Söhne also participates in car events all over the world – like the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the Concours of Elegance in Hampton Court Palace, and the Concours of Elegance Germany – so the Audrain show finds itself in very good company.

The Connection

“A. Lange & Söhne is synonymous with precision, craftsmanship, and luxury. I can’t think of a more ideal presenting sponsor,” said Audrain CEO Donald Osborne in a press release for the upcoming event. “The partnership reflects both of our commitments to pursue excellence and elevate the status of the event in the world of luxury watches and automotive culture.”

Of the watchmaker’s inaugural sponsorship in 2023, A. Lange & Söhne CEO Wilhelm Schmidt commented: “Cars represent freedom and independence. Watches symbolize the preciousness of time. We move and identify with them. This forms the basis of our partnerships in the classic car segment.”

Car (and Watch) Talk

An elegant and less overwhelming event when compared to other major Concours shows, Audrain’s confab is an appealing mix of classic car auctions (overseen by Bonhams), informative seminars, and various VIP events, including the legendary The Gathering that brings together some of the exhibitors’ best cars.

There is even a back-tie gala fundraiser for the Audrain Museum and its many programs, along with a classic car parade and, on Sunday, October 6th, the Concours d’Elegance awards at the legendary Breakers estate. You can find a more detailed calendar of events HERE.
