Jacob & Co. Whiskey x Alec Monopoly Limited Edition

Watching Whisky: Jacob & Co.’s New Luxury Collaboration with Graffiti Artist Alec Monopoly

The often disruptive yet always artful folks at Jacob & Co. recently released a rare, perfectly blended Scotch with some help from street artist and DJ Alec Monopoly.

The latest Jacob & Co. x Alec Monopoly project was a product of the appreciation Jacob & Co. founder Jacob Arabo holds for fine spirits, especially scotch, which he drinks almost exclusively. But this whisky’s actual birth? Well, that happened no later than 2016 (and perhaps even before).

Fun Fact: Jacob & Co.’s first collaboration with Alec Monopoly was the Astronomia Alec Monopoly from 2021, featuring miniature sculptures of pop culture characters (to represent the repertoire of the renowned contemporary graffiti artist) placed within the four-arm vertical movement and displayed via the Astronomia’s unmistakable case.

In 2016, Master Blender and spirits legend Andrew Rankin, formerly with scotch maker The Bowmore, began setting aside the finest examples of scotch whisky from first- and second-fill barrelings that were being aged in former American Oak bourbon barrels, at that point, for at least 26 years.

Those whiskies then spent at least four more years marrying their flavor profiles and aging together to produce the Jacob & Co. x Alec Monopoly Limited Edition Whisky, a 30-year-old blend, meaning that the youngest whiskies in this blend are a minimum of 30 years old.

The Bottle Tale

Of course, as a full-on luxury brand, Jacob & Co. didn’t stop at just providing exquisite whisky for the project; they just had to make it more special and more visually dynamic. This extra effort is a Jacob & Co. signature we’ve seen in all its collections, as well as lifestyle partnerships like the Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co. Residences in Dubai. Thus, like the precious juice inside, the decanter itself is a bespoke creation.

Designed by innovative spirits marketer Constellation X, the bottles are co-signed by NYC-native artist Alec Monopoly (who famously leans into his whimsical surname by featuring board game imagery, especially his version of Monopoly Man, in his graffiti).

In fact, Decanter #1 of this collaboration is a fully decorated Alec Monopoly work of art and will eventually be put up for auction at some point in the future.

Pricing & Availability

As for the rest of this limited edition’s availability, only 2,000 bottles of Jacob & Co. x Alec Monopoly Limited Edition Whisky will be offered, with those now available via the Constellation X website and select retail outlets. As for its price, you can get a taste of what happens when finely blended scotch meets the funkified art of decanting for $2,750. Learn more at the Jacob & Co. website.
