Doubling the Lead: Breitling’s Stunning New Chronomat GMT and Endurance Pro NFL Team Editions
For the 2025-26 National Football League season, the watchmaker makes a surprise end-run into a first-of-its-kind, fully blown official partnership touchdown with the league. For extra points: New models honoring all 32 teams, now in both the Chronomat AND Endurance Pro lines.
At about this time last year, Breitling launched limited-edition Chronomat B01 42 chronograph models that were unprecedented commemorative versions for each of the 32 NFL football teams.
Following the unmitigated success of these limited edition releases, which were the result of what was essentially a very involved licensing arrangement, Breitling has now announced it is a newly minted, multi-year global partner – and the first official timepiece partner – of the National Football League.
In fact, Breitling’s upgraded involvement could be seen as constituting the NFL’s first “luxury” partner, a market the league is reportedly increasingly interested in pursuing. A quick review of the list of other official NFL partners indicates that none of them, though notable, even come close to the prestige Breitling holds in its category.
The league’s luxury impulse isn’t particularly off-base when you consider that the average price for NFL season tickets, if you can even get them, can run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Moreover, stadium corporate “skyboxes” can cost $5,000 to $50,000 per game, depending on the team and location, while season-long leases easily run into the seven-figure range, and single-game Super Bowl skybox fees can exceed $1 million.
Breitling Brings More
In addition to team-inspired models in both Chronomat Automatic GMT and Endurance Pro forms (which we will tackle in a moment), Breitling will also be more involved in key season events like Super Bowl LX (scheduled be played at San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium in February, 2026), and will present special custom timepieces to select winners of this season’s NFL Honors awards.
The watchmaker will also provide support for the NFL’s “international games” program via boutique events in São Paolo, Dublin, London, Berlin, and Madrid.
Apparently, Breitling’s “rookie” season last year went pretty well.
“Partnering with the NFL is a defining moment for Breitling,” Breitling CEO Georges Kern said in an announcement about the partnership and watch models. “The NFL brings people together: families, friends, entire communities. It’s about the moments you share and the traditions you build over time. That’s what we wanted to reflect in these watches. It’s something you wear with pride and one day pass on, along with your love for the game.”
Breitling Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 NFL Teams Editions
While the inaugural team editions for the Chronomat B01 42 chronographs launched last year certainly took a subtle, sophisticated design approach to incorporating team fandom, the new Chronomat Automatic GMT 40s take an even more low-key, artful tack.
For each of the 32 versions, the dial color matches the primary color for each team uniform, with the second time zone GMT hand picking up each team’s contrasting secondary color (so black dials and gold GMT hands for the Pittsburgh Steelers, orange dials and black hands for the Cincinnati Bengals, and so on). A more direct team connection is made in “stealth mode” with an official engraved logo for each team on the steel case back.
This is nothing short of a brilliant move on Breitling’s part, because, as the only “obvious” NFL team branding is on the caseback, these watches will appeal to both non-football fans and gridiron fanatics alike.
Of course, you can expect rock-solid performance while supporting your team of choice, thanks to the COSC-certified Breitling 32 caliber movement with a 42-hour power reserve that is calling the plays for this 40mm steel GMT, which is also rated to 200 meters of water resistance.
The new Breitling Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 NFL Team Editions are priced at $6,600 each.
Breitling Endurance Pro NFL Teams Editions
It might be too facile a conclusion to label the new team-honoring Endurance Pro chronograph as an entry-level “fan watch,” but with base Endurance Pros in the $3,000-ish range, Breitling has certainly created new appealing options for even more NFL team loyalists to wear their pride on their wrists.
However, they don’t lean into gawdy, logo-abuse either, at all. All 32 team editions feature legible and versatile black dials with an up-sweeping inner bezel pulsometer scale in each team’s primary color. Small, subtle titanium team logos adorn the 6 o’clock chronograph sub-dial without overwhelming the design (quite a trick, since the teams’ logos range from a stylized falcon in flight to a full, just-orange football helmet). These Endurance Pros also carry an official logo on the case back, this time the official NFL “shield” logo for all 32 executions.
Powered by Breitling’s COSC-certified SuperQuartz caliber 82 movement, with a case and bezel crafted from lightweight titanium, and on a tough black rubber strap, there’s already an all-around ruggedness to the Endurance Pro line. You might be motivated to bring these team watches onto the gridiron if you’d like, but they will certainly stand up to your gym routine as well as any aggressive fist-pumping during the big game.
The new Breitling Endurance Pro 44 NFL Team Editions are priced at $4,400 each.
Game Day
Speaking of fist-pumping exuberance, like last year’s debut, Breitling celebrated the new partnership and watches with an elevated “tailgate/block” party in and around its stylish downtown Manhattan boutique on Washington Street in the Meatpacking District. However, while last year’s launch was fun, informative, and mildly star-studded, this year’s event was on a whole new level.
The evening kicked off with a rousing performance by the iconic Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders that ignited the crowd. Meanwhile, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was on hand to speak about the new partnership and lend an air of official gravitas to the block party feel of the event.
Legendary players, such as former league MVP quarterback Boomer Esiason and two-time Super Bowl winner quarterback Eli Manning, mingled with the attendees, as did actor and Breitling ambassador Austin Butler (who is rumored to be in contention to be the next James Bond).
With the September 4th NFL season opener, which will see the Super Bowl champ Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Dallas Cowboys, coming up quickly, both of the watches from those teams received a lot of spectator attention. As the festive event was based in New York, there were also crowds getting a first look at both the Jets and Giants team watches.
It was a fun celebration in the end zone all-around, even before the whistle blew on the new season.
