Antiquorum Offers Rare Patek Philippe Ref. 5074 and ref. 3939 in January Hong Kong Auction

Press Release - Antiquorum Auctioneers, the world’s premier auctioneers of modern and vintage timepieces, is looking forward to its January 26th auction of “Important Modern & Vintage Timepieces” at Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. The first sale of the year will offer a collection of fine and rare timepieces from Patek Philippe as well as a series of magnificent skeletonized chronographs. Previews will be held at Antiquorum’s showrooms in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

The Patek Philippe Ref. 5074, a platinum minute repeater perpetual calendar and thePatek Philippe Ref. 3939 tourbillon minute repeating wristwatch with enamel dialwill definitely be the center of attention. Besides these highly collectible timepieces, there will also be many exceptional modern and vintage horological highlights of collectors’ interest.

The highlight of the sale is the Patek Philippe Ref. 5074 minute repeater perpetual calendar in platinum (Lot 120). The Ref 5074 was launched in 2002 only in yellow gold available with silver or a black dial. Patek Philippe presented the pink gold version at the Basel fair in 2005 and the platinum version at Basel 2009. This reference is considered the successor of the famous Ref. 3974. The mechanism is the same in both references, with the exception of the gong, which goes twice around the watch case in Ref. 5074 in order to give a better and louder sound. This type of gong is called a “cathedral gong.” Antiquorum is pleased to offer this premium timepiece to all collectors. Made in 2010, this very fine and rare wristwatch features perpetual calendar, 24 hour subsidiary dial and moon phases. It is accompanied by a winding box, fitted box, Certificate of Origin, setting pin and a leather folder with instructions.

Another noteworthy timepiece is the Patek Philippe Ref. 3939 Tourbillon Minute Repeater Enamel Dial in Pink Gold (Lot 291), a very fine and rare minute-repeating 18K pink gold wristwatch with enamel dial, one-minute tourbillon regulator and an 18K pink gold Patek Philippe buckle. Sold on June 28th, 2010. Accompanied by original card travel case, additional case back, hang tag, service box, COSC certificate and Certificate of Originwithin a leather folio.

Antiquorum experts are proud to present the Patek Philippe Ref. 3450, Roman Leap Year Display, an 18K yellow gold wristwatch with perpetual calendar (Lot 280).Made in 1985, this is a very fine and rare timepiece with an 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe buckle, perpetual calendar, moon phases, and Roman numerals for the leap year indication. It is accompanied by a fitted box and the Extract from the Archives.

Another exceptional timepiece from Patek Philippe is the Ref. 5050G in 18K white gold wristwatch with an 18K white gold Patek Philippe deployant clasp, perpetual calendar, retrograde date, leap year indication and moon phases. Sold on February 22nd, 2000, it is accompanied by a fitted winding box, Certificate of Origin, additional 18K white gold case back, push pin and instruction booklet.

Antiquorum experts are pleased to present the Jaeger-LeCoultre Ref. 149.6.07.S Gyrotourbillon 1, Platinum, No. 68/75, (Lot 199). Made in a limited edition of 75 pieces in platinum, this is an exceptional and highly complicated platinum wristwatch with perpetual calendar, two retrograde dates, equation of time, leap-year indication and a Jaeger-LeCoultre platinum deployant clasp. It is accompanied by the original fitted box, guarantee and books.

Antiquorum experts are proud to present an outstanding skeletonized timepiece that combines fine craftsmanship and complication – the Antonie Preziuso “The Art of Tourbillon”, No. 01/10, 18K pink gold skeletonized wristwatch (Lot 198), produced in a limited edition of 10 examples and sold on November 11th, 2010. Very fine and elegant, the 18K pink gold wristwatch features one-minute tourbillon regulator, 110 hour power reserve and an 18K pink gold Antonie Preziuso buckle. It is accompanied by a fitted collection box and Certificate.
