Portrait of the Altitude Officier
The Altitude Officier retains the elegance and style of the Première but nods to early watches worn by military officers. With its emphasis on pure readability and practical functionality, the Officier is a timepiece for the active, confident individual who favours simplicity over gimmickry.
A respectful embodiment of traditional design and Haute Horology, the Officier shows clear influences from Breguet-era horology through accuracy-led outer markings (the “railroad track”) and handcrafted numerals.
The latter not only displays a clear yet iconic sans serif type, the size and gentle italics present elegance through simplicity and clarity. The classic but clean script effortlessly blends tradition and modernity. Here, Meerson’s heritage is also evident: the barred seven alludes to the custom of French horology and is a subtle tribute to the iconic pieces of his father, Emerich Meerson.
The overall impression of an Officier timepiece is one of inner confidence and resilience. It is as diverse as it is tailored, a complement to any situation. A late-dusk hued graphite face with rhodium appliques or a white-silvered dial with black gold numerals encased in titanium or rose gold: it’s a selection as at ease in the board room as in the marina.
The Officier’s beating heart is the AM-4808, a Swiss-created and marqued movement. Each consists of 193 hand- and machine-finished parts. Regardless of function or visibility, each element of the movement is individually decorated as testament to the Meerson commitment to perfection in every detail. The movement’s robust core employs Incabloc® shock resistance and its double barrel construction provides a fifty hour power reserve. It is reliable and durable to withstand the industrious use for which it was designed.
ALEXANDRE MEERSON encourages purchasers to further tailor their Altitude Officier in consultation with our in-house experts. From the thirty available strap materials and finishes to customisations of the watch itself, the opportunity to create completely unique pieces is firmly ingrained in the ethos of the house.
