In Geneva, Mexico and Munich, three prestigious awards have been handed to A. Lange & Söhne for the RICHARD LANGE PERPETUAL CALENDAR “Terraluna”. The company’s founder Walter Lange received a lifetime achievement award.

In Geneva, the RICHARD LANGE PERPETUAL CALENDAR “Terraluna” by A. Lange & Söhne was winner of the “Calendar Watch Prize” of the well-established Grand Prix d’Horlogerie on 31 October 2014. Lange CEO Wilhelm Schmid received the prize awarded by an international jury composed of 25 watch experts during a gala event at the city’s Grand Theatre.

At the same event, Walter Lange, the 90-year-old founder of company, received the Special Jury Prize. This prize rewards a personality, institution or initiative that has played a fundamental role in promoting fine watchmaking.

The RICHARD LANGE PERPETUAL CALENDAR “Terraluna”, which had only be launched at the beginning of 2014, had previously received two other important acknowledgements: At the Salón Internacional Alta Relojería (SIAR) in Mexico City it was named Watch of the Year and at the first GQ Time Awards in Munich it got the first prize in the Innovation category.
