While enthousiasts continue to discover new dial configurations and variations on the Daytona, this truly exceptional watch has to be considered as a true new revelation. Sold new through Asprey to Libya, the watch bears the perfectly matching signature of Muammar Gadaffi in red matching with the big Daytona signature as well as having the full serial number stamped inside the caseback. Despite the fact that Colonel Gadaffi was seen in the early 1970’s wearing a gold Datejust, it is highly unlikely that it was his watch but rather a gift he made to one of his close friends or a foreign dignitary. A unique opportunity to complete a Daytona collection.
