Fun With Fonts: Typography’s New Maximalism
1816 Chronograph
Louis Moinet celebrates the 210th anniversary of the world’s first chronograph with the 1816 Chronograph, presented in a warm champagne hue. Inspired by the original 1816 design, its refined dial combines blued-steel hands, rhodium-plated counters, and traditional details, blending historical heritage with contemporary elegance.
At its heart, the new LM1816 calibre comprises 330 components, a column wheel, and an instantaneous minute counter. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the hand-wound movement delivers a 48-hour power reserve and showcases meticulous finishing.
The 40.6 mm Grade 5 titanium case features polished and satin-finished surfaces, complemented by an integrated sculptural bracelet. Combining mechanical sophistication with timeless design, this limited-edition spirit honours Louis Moinet’s pioneering legacy.
