Manic Fixie Watches: A Love Letter to Fixed Lug Timepieces
Ingenieur Automatic 40 50th Anniversary
IWC Schaffhausen celebrates 50 years of Gérald Genta’s iconic Ingenieur SL with two limited-edition Ingenieur Automatic models. Inspired by a rare 1970s variant, both feature refined brushed silver-plated dials, rhodium-plated hands and luminous hour markers, with the traditional lightning bolt replaced by “50.” Their stainless-steel cases, integrated bracelets and distinctive five-screw bezels preserve Genta’s bold, purist design while offering contemporary ergonomics and finishing.
The 40mm Ingenieur Automatic 40 is powered by IWC’s 32111 calibre, delivering an impressive 120-hour power reserve and magnetic-field protection through a soft-iron inner case. Measuring 10.8mm thick and water-resistant to 10 bar, it combines robust engineering, refined proportions and historic character in a limited edition of 1,150 pieces.
