Omega Speedmaster Effect: Three Collectors, Three Distinct Personalities
Academia Out of Time Unique Piece For Only Watch
DeWitt created a unique version of the Academia Out of Time for the Only Watch 2015 charity auction, taking place on 7 November 2015 in Geneva. The watch features two complications: a dead-beat seconds hand, serving as both a regulator and seconds function indicator in the 4 o’clock display, and a free seconds hand in the 8 o’clock display invented by DeWitt. The two functions feature real time on one hand, and virtual time on the other, which cannot be controlled, measured, or recovered.
The blue lacquered dial displays an attractive motif of misty mountains highlighted by specks of silver rising towards a clear, starry sky. The 42.5 mm,18 karat rose gold case houses a self-winding movement, manufactured by DeWitt. The caseback is engraved '1/1', highlighting the rarity of this timepiece. This watch will be sold during the Only Watch charity auction to help raise funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
