Jaquet Droz Celebrates Its Fabulous Heritage – Shanghai 2013

On the occasion of its 275th anniversary, the brand, founded in 1738, unveils an exceptional exhibition at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in the historic Bund district.

Told in five chapters, it gives an insight into the many facets of the Swiss watchmaker and a grasp of how his legacy remains perfectly preserved today.

This journey through time underscores the continuity between the old pieces of the eighteenth century and contemporary creations: automata, exceptional pieces from the artistic craft workshops, birds in all their forms, a true source of inspiration for set design, rivaling in beauty the many timeless, iconic legends of watchmaking. On view until July 2, 2013, this unique road show will then tour the rest of Asia and the world.

Jaquet Droz’s involvement with China goes back over two centuries. Much more than a fickle romance, the Swiss watchmaker and the land of the Forbidden City have built a relationship on a true understanding and appreciation for each other.
