Greubel Forsey’s Stephen Forsey on the Double Balancier 35° Model
Founded on heritage and technological advancement, Greubel Forsey began in 2004 when Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey joined forces.
From a young age, Greubel admired his Father who was a watchmaker. Greubel followed in his father’s footsteps and trained as watchmaker in France, eventually fine-tuning his focus on movement design in the 1980s. Forsey on the other hand, began with an interest in mechanics through a legacy, two generations deep, of devotion to historic cars and aviation. After a chance meeting of a family friend who owned an antique clock show where he restored the movements, Forsey soon linked his appeal to mechanics with the art of watchmaking.
Earlier this year, iW Managing Editor and Swiss Correspondent Nola Martin sat down with Stephen Forsey to discuss the brand’s foundations and watchmaking expertise.
