The Favre Leuba Harpoon Revival Series Expands With Two New References

With these two new colorways, Favre Leuba gives the Harpoon Revival a fresh visual identity while preserving the distinctive design language of its historic predecessor. The black and blue sunray-brushed dials add a contemporary edge to the collection.

A New Chapter for the Harpoon Revival

When Favre Leuba introduced the Harpoon Revival earlier this year, the gray-dial edition established the collection’s visual and historical foundation. Inspired by the original 1966 model, it combined the proportions and graphic language of the vintage watch with contemporary materials and mechanical performance.

The new black and blue references remain faithful to this approach while offering a fresh interpretation of the Harpoon’s character. Their richly colored sunray-brushed dials create a dynamic surface that subtly changes with the light, adding depth while preserving the clean, purposeful aesthetic of the original.

As with the original gray reference, the new dials retain the distinctive architecture that links the Revival to its 1966 predecessor. Applied rhodium-plated hour markers follow the historic geometry, including the horizontally oriented markers at 12, 6, and 9 o’clock – one of the details that gives the Harpoon its unmistakable identity.

The stylized “Harpoon” signature at six o’clock and framed date aperture at three o’clock reinforce the connection between past and present, while rhodium-plated hands filled with Super-LumiNova® C1 X2 GL ensure clear legibility in low light.

The new references retain the inaugural Harpoon Revival’s compact 36.8 mm stainless steel case, measuring 10 mm thick and 43.5 mm from lug to lug, translating its vintage-inspired design into balanced proportions suited to contemporary daily wear.

The black-dial model is paired with a black leather strap, while the blue version comes with brown leather, both secured by a stainless steel pin buckle. An integrated easy-change system allows the straps to be swapped without tools, adding practical versatility to the design.

Two New Expressions of the Harpoon

With the original gray model, Favre Leuba established the Harpoon Revival as a link to its dive-watch heritage. The new black and blue references broaden the collection while retaining the distinctive design language of the 1966 original.

The black version takes a restrained approach, emphasizing the contrast between its dial, rhodium-plated markers, and polished case. The blue edition introduces greater color and depth through its sunray-brushed surface, giving the watch a more contemporary presence while preserving the Harpoon’s signature details.

Together, the three references form a coherent family, demonstrating how the 1966-inspired design can evolve without losing its identity. The expansion also reflects Favre Leuba’s Renaissance following its global relaunch in 2024, combining historic design codes with modern mechanical watchmaking and the maison’s enduring “Conquering Frontiers” philosophy.

Beneath the familiar architecture, the new references use the same FLD04 automatic caliber as the original Revival. Based on the La Joux-Perret G100, the self-winding movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (vph) and provides a 68-hour power reserve. With 26 jewels and displays for hours, minutes, seconds, and date, it brings contemporary mechanical performance to the Harpoon’s 1960s-inspired design.
