Choose Your Own Adventure: Panerai’s New PAMCAST Takes You On A Thrilling Journey
Panerai has always been about legendary experiences. And the Italian watchmaker’s weekly digital storytelling platform promises great virtual escapes.
Panerai is famous for offering its customer’s one-of-kind experiences. Watchonista’s Alexander Friedman will never forget his training session with the Comando Raggruppamento Subacquei e Incursori (COMBUSIN) — the Italian Navy’s elite frogmen force — and the Marina Militare (read HERE).
The manufacturer is also renowned for offering enthusiasts a bespoke boutique relationship, serving up watch knowledge along with a mighty fine espresso.
Over the years, Panerai has used these experiences to build up a strong community of collectors, and 2020 is no exception. Now the brand is boldly expanding its influence into the digital sphere with a new storytelling platform called PAMCAST, where Paneristis can dive into an immersive online experience.
Oh, The Places You Will Go
Launched on June 29th, PAMCAST kicked off with an episode called “Italian Colors.”
No mere travelogue, this inaugural edition highlighted the four thematic pillars of the PAMCAST project: Lifestyle, Laboratorio di Idee, Entertainment, and Straps/Accessories. The goal of each episode is to communicate the uniqueness inherent in Panerai’s offerings and useful advice that will enrich the lives of its audience.
For the premiere PAMCAST, members were taken on an exciting trip to the five villages composing the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cinque Terre, Italy. The "Five Lands" itinerary included hikes along the coastline and focused on the 2020 Luminor Marina Carbotech 44mm (PAM01661).
The Luminor Marina Carbotech 44mm (read HERE) is the first of eight upcoming watches that will debut exclusively debut on the Panerai e-commerce site before becoming available at brick-and-mortar points of sale. And the PAMCAST project is designed to provide an online exploration that’s as immersive as signing up for dive lessons with the Italian Navy. It’s just another way to cement the bond Panerai has with its fans around the world.
The Future Is Now
The global landscape is rapidly changing, and Panerai recognizes that the experience of owning a high-end timepiece can’t just be limited to the physical object itself, especially as the internet has become a major resource for collectors.
“Online browsing has become a prime interest for our loyal customers,” said Panerai CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué. “We are committed to creating for them exciting high-quality, original storytelling content that not only enhances their lives but represents the best of Panerai's DNA and roots.”
PAMCAST’s unique content is produced by Panerai to provide a hub for enthusiasts who want to discover the historical context for their favorite products. But it’s also a lifestyle site. Its vision is to transport Paneristis the same way that films, television shows, books, and other media enchant us. It’s a place where the community can join in on an ongoing, immersive virtual adventure.
For example, if you want recommendations for the best free diving spots, the PAMCAST will not only take you to 10 breathtaking locations, but it will also recommend the most interesting places to eat, sleep, and recharge in each destination. It’s like getting a personal guided tour for exploring the most in-the-know locales.
And of course, if while watching you become inspired and want to know which Panerai timepieces would best complement each adventure, you can click on a product image for insider advice.
Story Time
PAMCAST also allows visitors to delve deep into the world of Panerai. Each model has its own epic story to tell.
A visit to PAMCAST lets guests keep up to date on the latest debuts as well as an opportunity to search the company’s treasure trove of trivia and secrets. But as much as the platform allows you to examine the past, PAMCAST is also about exploring the future.
“The rapid evolution of the digital landscape has created many opportunities to strengthen client engagement,” said Pontroué. “We will always look to raise the bar on how and where our clients are able to experience our brand both online and in-person.”
PAMCAST is live now, and you can visit the site HERE.
