A Watch To Conquer All Obstacles, A Look At Luminox’s Partnership with Spartan Racing USA
If it’s good enough for a Navy Seal, it’ll do for your weekend obstacle course.
As preferred watch brand for the most elite combat unit in the world: the Navy Seals, Swiss Brand Luminox is no stranger to the rigors faced in the battle field. Put simply, Luminox watches are designed for extreme performance and (nearly) any physically challenges you can throw at them. Which brings us to today’s announcement, Luminox and Spartan USA are joining together in a strategic partnership. In addition to the partnership, Luminox has introduced three new watches.
On paper, this sounds like the perfect marriage. As the operator of the largest participatory obstacle races in the United States, Spartan USA conducts hundreds of unique races per year. These races are known to be challenging spectacles of endurance, a fitting environment for Luminox.
Bernd Stadlwieser, CEO, Luminox stated in the brand’s press release,
“We are proud to be the Official Timing Partner and Official Watch of Spartan USA. Luminox is a brand synonymous with adventure, strength, and high adrenaline, and the Spartan events are the perfect platforms to bring this energy to life. In support of our partnership, we are proud to unveil three Official Spartan Watches".
The Easy Day Was Yesterday
Luminox and Spartan match for the racers physical and mental toughness, the two brands also share the same values of never giving up and both agree to the credo “The Only Easy Day was yesterday.” Inspiring people to work harder every day.
In a bid to honor competitors’ commitments to testing their own limits in the harshest conditions, the brand will equip the winners of the races with specially designed Luminox watches. In parallel to this partnership, Luminox started their #EverySecondCounts campaign which seeks to amplify the importance of timekeeping in every mission in which their watches are used.
Luminox will release the first of these pieces with three new models. These Co-Branded Spartan x Luminox watches are released just in time for the Spartan World Championship on North Lake Tahoe, CA on September 15th. Two more models, from the 1000 Series and the 0300 Series will follow on October 2018. Each watch will feature the official Spartan Race logo on the caseback and dial.
While I’ll admit, Watchonista hasn’t covered Luminox extensively, with their new representation in the United States, expect to see more. What struck this writer was the brand’s unique self-powered illumination system. That’s right, without exposure to light or activation, the dial lights up brighter than a Christmas tree.
