Sweet Dreams: The New Hublot x The Hour Glass Spirit of Big Bang Carbon Candy Pink Projects Positivity
Inspired by the Pantone shade of the same name, the Spirit of Big Bang Carbon Candy Pink is a playful take on Hublot’s avant-garde design language.
Watchonista’s Marco Gabella recently wrote a roundup of 2025 trends in watchmaking materials. In it, he talked about Hublot’s mastery of ceramic-cased timepieces, specifically the brand’s Big Bang Unico Magic Ceramic and its blue and black, multi-colored insert released in February.
Hublot’s most recent release, the Spirit of Big Bang Carbon Candy Pink, a collaboration with Singapore-based specialist watch retailer The Hour Glass, proves that the brand is just as adept at mixing it up in other materials. Even more impressively, this watch uses its pink hue to create sweet emotion.
Here’s the story.
Sugar Rush
Preceded by the Spirit of Big Bang Carbon White (2023) and Spirit of Big Bang Carbon Green (2024), the Spirit of Big Bang Carbon Candy Pink is Hublot's third creation with The Hour Glass. As you can tell by the names of these collaborations, these releases put a premium on color exploration.
However, beyond being an exploration of color, the new Candy Pink watch's vivid expression of its colorway is a celebration of both Hublot’s and The Hour Glass’ 40-plus-year commitment to advancing the awareness, appreciation, and culture of luxury watch collecting while also challenging tradition and expanding the boundaries of design, technology, and craft.
The Spirit of Big Bang Carbon Candy Pink features a 42mm tonneau-shaped case crafted from a specially developed frosted carbon composite with bright pink inclusions, creating a striking marbled effect. Each case is unique, offering visual energy without compromising comfort or the carbon fiber’s strength and lightweight properties.
Featuring an openworked dial, this special edition showcases Candy Pink accents on the hands, indices, logo, date display, and chronograph counters. Six signature H-shaped titanium screws encircle the bezel. Meanwhile, the caseback is engraved with “SPECIAL EDITION” and the watch’s number.
The Power of Pink
Pink is the kind of color that can’t help but send “good vibes.” Pantone Candy Pink 14-1911 is a light and soft shade that summons feelings of nostalgia. This vibrant color finds balance between the feminine and masculine when mixed with grey carbon fibers. The resulting, almost camouflage-like pattern also presents a nice marriage of calm and kinetic.
To harmonize with the carbon fiber case, Hublot has also introduced a Candy Pink structured rubber strap that was created specifically for this model, as well as a second, all-black rubber strap. Both straps employ the brand’s patented “One Click” system, enabling wearers to quickly adapt the watch’s style. The black ceramic and black plated titanium deployant buckle, adorned with an engraved pink Hublot logo, adds a final touch of whimsy to the wrist.
In a press release announcing the Spirit of Big Bang Carbon Candy Pink’s release, CEO Julien Tornare said, “At Hublot, we excel at transforming daring ideas into tangible beauty. By combining Candy Pink with our cutting-edge carbon fiber, we’ve achieved a playful yet technically sound creation – serious watchmaking with a delightful nuance.”
“At The Hour Glass, we’ve always believed that watches can be more than instruments,” added Michael Tay, the retailer’s Group Managing Director, “they can reflect personality, creativity, and perspective. This latest creation captures that perfectly.”
The Spirit of Big Bang Carbon Candy Pink is powered by the HUB4700 self-winding skeleton chronograph movement based on the legendary El Primero 400 calibre.
