Breitling Presents A Second Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition To Support Frontline Healthcare Workers
After the success of the Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition, unveiled during Breitling’s global digital summit, the brand is back with a second version to help support frontline healthcare heroes.
The Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition was launched at the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis during a live stream of the Breitling digital summit. Catching the world’s attention with its rainbow-inspired design, the timepiece resonated with the brand’s fans as the rainbow has become a sign of hope and optimism during these challenging times.
Supporting Frontline Heroes During COVID-19
Thanks to the positive feedback of the first Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition, Breitling decided to issue a second version with a blue dial to support frontline healthcare workers in the countries most affected by the coronavirus. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of these 1,000 timepieces will go to charities working in regions that have been the hardest hit.
“We were amazed by the popularity of the Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition, which told us that we could do something for the incredible healthcare workers,” shared Breitling CEO, Georges Kern. “They have sacrificed so much, and we wanted to make it clear how much we care with this new version of our own rainbow.”
Breitling is also donating an additional CHF 1,000 to these charities for each of the first 100 pieces sold online at www.breitling.com, reaching a total donation of CHF 500,000.
Direct Relief
In the US, the humanitarian aid organization Direct Relief, recognized for its work in improving the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies, will be receiving funds from the sale of the timepieces. In France, Breitling will be working with the Foundation de France; in Italy, it will be supporting Humanitas Hospital Group; in Japan, the National Center for Global Health and Medicine; in Spain, the Ministry of Health; and in the United Kingdom, the NHS Charities Together.
Charitybuzz
In addition to the donations, Breitling has also announced that, in June, one of the Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Editions will be auctioned by Charitybuzz, an organization known for its auctions of unique items and experiences in support of worthy causes.
Not only will the auction winner receive the eye-catching Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II, but the winning bidder will also have the opportunity to have a live digital chat with the champion surfer, Kelly Slater. Slater is a member of Breitling’s Surfers Squad and is arguably the greatest surfer of all time. Proceeds from the auction will go to the US-based charity Direct Relief.
