The First Video Interview With New Panerai CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué

Officine Panerai, although rich in history, is relatively a new brand in the luxury watch marketplace. For almost the majority of the brand’s rise amongst the industry leaders they were spearheaded by Angelo Bonati as the CEO. With Mr. Bonati stepping down earlier this year, longtime Roger Dubuis front man Jean-Marc Pontroué took the reins.
 

Over the past few years, there has been a definite change and evolution within the brand emphasizing on technical advancements in materials used in their cases, a migration to all in-house movements, and more emphasis in haute horology with some very complicated pieces like the recent release of their Skeletonized Moonphase Tourbillon. We have also seen a very interesting deviation away from the larger sized watches we have been accustom to from the brand with the introduction of the Luminor Due models which are much thinner than the typical Luminor models. Between the purists of the brand and all the new fans coming up through the ranks, there are a lot of questions regarding how the brand will continue to advance. Panerai Central was honored and lucky enough to be the very first to interview Mr. Pontroué since he joined the brand only four months ago.
