The origins
The skilled watchmaker explains to us what has struck a chord deep inside him since the very beginning. For Rexhep, being able to create his timepieces, from A to Z, the exact way he envisioned is essential. From the conception of the case and the movement to the actual production of the final watch, everything is done in-house. With long hours of work by skilled hands. With the utmost attention to details. With the precision excellence required. With the love of watchmaking necessary to attain the goal. The name “Akrivia”
Yes, it is complicated! A visit to the Atelier shines a bright light on all the steps involved. How difficult they are. How precise each of them is. How interdependent all these processes are.
Rexhep explains how precision came to be at the core of everything he created. As a skilled watchmaker, Chronometric accuracy is, of course, essential. But every single traditional watchmaking skill requires the same quality. This is how "Akrivia," translating to "precision" in Greek, emerged as the perfect name. It fulfills the requirements to perpetuate tradition, craftsmanship, and technical innovation. The essence of what he wants to achieve.
One vision – Two expressions
Rexhep reminds us he has very traditional training. He mastered his skills on very conventional timepieces. His first models – bearing the Akrivia name – showcased his modern interpretation of this secular craft. When he introduced the new line adorned with his own name in 2018, a lot of people questioned why. Was it a different brand? A different way of making watches? He genuinely answers that both lines are provided with the same attention, the same level of excellence. They are just two sides of the same coin. Two expressions of the same vision: one more modern, one more classical, but always with the touch from the Akrivia Atelier.
