A Day With The Certina DS-1 Big Date DS Concept Special Edition
Living and working in the city of Lausanne is particularly beautiful in the Fall with the changing color of the leaves and the early morning mist over the lake that makes the city almost mysterious. This season always makes me smile, especially when I have this Certina timepiece on the wrist.

There is something about cycling to work that makes me feel alive. I think it is the combination of exercise and crisp morning air that hits my face and transports my sleepy body and mind into a state of full alertness.
Off To Work
I glance down at my Certina watch, and I'm way ahead of time to get to my first meeting of the day. So instead of taking the direct route, I decide to make a slight detour that takes me on a scenic tour around the historic city of Lausanne.
This new path is a little more challenging, so I stop to roll up my sleeves, displaying the Certina DS-1 Big Date DS Concept Special Edition in all its glory. What I love most about this timepiece is how it is both sporty and elegant at the same time with its striking domed fumé green dial, cool Milanese bracelet, and big date at six o'clock.
Breakfast Along The Way
I arrive at the Pointu Café for a quick coffee with an old friend. He is running late as usual. If only he had a Certina watch too, he would have a better chance of being on time! I order my breakfast and enjoy this moment of solitude watching people come and go.
Meeting In The Office
Once in the office, the day flies by, and before I know it, it is time for my meeting with the company’s creative director. As we sit down, I catch him checking out my watch, and I'm secretly flattered as he has a great sense of style.
We look back over what we have achieved so far, while at the same time looking forward to the company’s future. Certina’s DS-1 Big Date DS Concept Special Edition is an excellent example of this merging of past, present, and future. Founded in 1888, Certina celebrates the 60th anniversary of its DS Concept this year with a watch that has continuously been improved since 1959. This new timepiece celebrates all the brand’s past achievements while staying contemporary and cutting-edge too.
Catching Up With Friends For A Drink
After a quick ride back home on my bicycle, I get changed, grab a bite to eat, and head out to meet friends for a drink. The Certina comes with me, of course, and I admire how it just works with any style of dress. From a business suit to jeans and a shirt, this Certina watch looks terrific. But now it is time to forget about the time and enjoy a pleasurable moment with friends in this fun city that I call home.
