A Day with a Breguet Reine de Naples
Find a woman in the world who is in love but not obsessed with watches- I mean real watches- whose desire isn’t to wear if not acquire once in her lifetime a Breguet. Not just any Breguet, the epitome of femininity, a Reine de Naples.
There isn’t any doubt that this mechanical horological complication was specifically made for women. The feminine curves and sensuality sweating off the oval shape of the case (Breguet’s signature for women) adorned with flexible golden threads bracelet topped with a mother of pearl dial show off just a bit of a female’s beauty and complexity – keep in mind that all women have some and always will!
Twelve o’clock time-for-a-stop, life-complications on the side is when I look at my horological complication: a moon phase placed on the top of the 40 hours power reserve.
Noon is consequently shaking me out of my horological reverie. As Wednesday is kids’ day it is time to fetch them, feed their hungry appetites before dropping them off to their dance then pottery class.
Where magic happened…
A few weeks from Christmas, it’s hardly impossible to get away from the tree decoration. Among thousands of options, the trick is to subtlely orient children in picking out a variety of adornments somehow color- assorted. A father is doing the exact same thing with his progeny. Spotting his look on my wrist, I roll up my sleeves pretending to get a glittery basket off a top shelf deliberately exposing my treasure.
A Reine de Naples on a woman’s wrist is a statement even if she’s off on a Christmas decoration mission with her kids. With sparkling diamonds on the bezel, a cabochon crown and a white gold complexion bracelet & case, the Reine de Naples Fils D’Or embodies with perfection the magical spirit of the holidays.
Unfortunately sometimes, kids aren’t like mechanical watch movements with automatic winding where we could let them rest just for a few hours on a velvet pouch when the power is down...
Selection done, decoration is on!
