Blancpain 2013 novelties: tradition, complications & exception
Minute-repeaters, Carrousels, Tourbillons and Grandes Dates are among the complications to which Blancpain pays tribute this year. Preview of these exceptional novelties.
Blancpain Le Brassus Tourbillon Carrousel
Created to fight against the effects of gravity on the functioning of the movement, the Tourbillon and the Carrousel are amongst the most prized complications in the watch world. By uniting them in a same timepiece, Blancpain reveals the extent of its craftsmanship.
Tribute to tradition, this world premiere is presented in a red gold case of 44,6 mm in diameter which highlights the finesse of a discreet enamel Grand Feu dial. This production allows to fully appreciate the evolutions of the flying Tourbillon, the flying Carrousel as well as the calendar inside a guilloché decoration. Manufactured to guarantee an optimal precision, the two complications are linked by a differential and thanks to two barrels the set is equipped with a power reserve extending to seven days.
Blancpain Le Brassus Minute Repeater Carrousel Chronographe Flyback
This model offers a plunging view on three magnificent complications. While the Carrousel situated at the 6 o’clock position attracts the eye, it is especially the geartrains of the Chronographe Flyback which are staged here. Blancpain’s craftsmanship seems to rear up from the open Grand Feu enamel dial while the hands majestically fly over this set.
Candy for the eyes as well as for the ears since with its cathedral timbre fitted to the case, the time sounds strongly and clearly. Presented in a red gold case of 45mm in diameter, this timepiece displays almost all its functions centrally.
Thus, the hours and the minutes as well as the chronograph hand and a 30-minute timer are situated at the centre. Thanks to the sapphire back, the bridges and the gold mainplate may be admired from all angles.
Blancpain Women Chronographe Grande Date
Blancpain also distinguishes itself through its complications offered to women. This model is a perfect demonstration as the hours-minutes, chronograph and large date are united in its red gold, white gold or steel 38,6mm case.
The delicate setting enlightens the bezel while two diamond waves demarcate the upper side of the mother-of-pearl dial to create a motif evoking a fan. If the hours and minutes timer is classic and discreet, it is highlighted by engraved lines in the mother-of-pearl and offers a seducing contrast with the Arabic numbers of the chronograph timers and those of the large date apertures situated at the 6 o’clock position.
Water-resistant to 30 metres, this timepiece is equipped with the Blancpain 26F8G calibre, a self-winding mechanical movement with 495 components.
