Inside Bucherer Masterworks Days: The Watchmakers Behind Haute Horlogerie

In this exclusive video report, we usher you past the velvet rope and right into the recent Bucherer Masterworks Days event in Switzerland to not only deliver the intimate flavor of attending, but also find out why the events are so special for watchmakers and customers alike.

Back in August, we previewed Zurich’s Bucherer Masterworks Days conclave, but now that this end-of-August get-together is over, I can vouch for the fact that the excitement of this event can really only be experienced live and in person.

After a lunch introduction by Bucherer Masterworks Days “master mind” Olivier Gantenbein, the retailers’ Global Associate Director, Haute Horlogerie Commercial, we caught up with attending watchmaking luminaries to get their take on the importance of what Bucherer is doing.

Armin Strom co-founder Serge Michel, IWC Creative Director Christian Knoop, Ressence founder and CEO Benoît Mintiens, Ulysse Nardin Chief Product Officer Jean-Christophe Sabatier, H. Moser & Cie’s International Sales Director Nicholas Hoffman, Chopard Chief of Staff Karl-Fritz Scheufele, Jacob & Co. lead watchmaker Bahman Tagharrobi, and De Bethune CEO Antonio Pin were all more than happy to share their impressions and insights for the elegant, intimate event.

If you like what you’re seeing, additional Masterworks Days events are scheduled for London, New York, and Munich in October. Keep an eye on Bucherer’s Instagram page for dates and information on more “open house” sessions.

Of course, you can always visit a Masterworks “lounge” whenever you’d like. There are currently 10 permanent locations across Europe and the US: Geneva, Lucerne, and Zurich in Switzerland; Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich in Germany; Vienna, Austria; London in the UK; and Las Vegas and New York in the US.
