The reflections of light which penetrate the depths of the sea create a chromatic spectacle which never fails to astonish and fascinate the human spirit. Indeed no other colour has the power to evoke the infinite in the way that blue does, through its natural association with the sky and the sea and through the innumerable evocative tones it can assume. The new dial of the Radiomir 1940 3 Days seems to want to capture these infinite shades and their intensity by means of sophisticated satiné soleil workmanship, and thanks to the use of various tones of blue, the dial is tinged in such a way that the outer part is a darker, more intense colour corresponding to the markers, which thus appear even more legible, and lighter towards the centre.

The new Radiomir 1940 3 Days is available in five versions which are distinguished by size, materials and function. The Radiomir 1940 cushion case which unites all the models is strong and solid with a minimalist linear design, and it is available in AISI 316L steel (42 mm, 45 mm or 47 mm in diameter) or in an elegant red gold case (45 mm) whose tone goes superbly well with the deep blue of the dial. On the back of the case of each example, an original piece of workmanship reveals a glimpse of the movement through a swirling design recalling the waves of the sea, created by a metallisation process carried out on the sapphire glass of the back.
 

All the five models of the Radiomir 1940 3 Days are fitted with a calibre made in-house by the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, located at the heart of the region with the oldest watchmaking tradition in the world. The model with automatic winding is available either in a version with hours, minutes and small seconds or in versions enhanced with other useful functions. The two time only models, in steel (PAM00933) or in red gold (PAM00934), use the P.4000 automatic calibre, a sophisticated concentration of technical watchmaking distinguished by its use of an off-centre bidirectional microrotor (in 22 carat gold in the gold version, and in tungsten in the steel one) which enables a power reserve of up to three days to be stored. The other two creations are fitted with the P.4001 and P.4002 calibres, developed from the P.4000 but with a date, GMT 24 hour display and indication of the remaining power on the back (PAM00945) or on the dial (PAM00946). Finally, for those who enjoy the ritual of hand-winding, there is a version fitted with the P.3000 calibre, with a power reserve of three days. This model (PAM00932) is the largest (47 mm in diameter), and it has a classic minimalist design, with a lightly domed sapphire crystal protecting a dial of absolute simplicity and purity.
 

The Radiomir 1940 3 Days in steel are water-resistant to 10 bar (a depth of about 100 metres) while the red gold model has a limit of 5 bar. All are fitted with a blue alligator strap, which goes perfectly with the colour of the dial, and its contrasting beige sewing recalls the colour of the luminous substance used on the hour markers. Every model is supplied in an elegant blue lacquered cherry wood box, inside which is a spare strap of blue rubber, or a blue fabric one for the 42 mm model.
