Announcement: Sophie Furley Joins Watchonista As Editor-At-Large
As part of Watchonista’s ongoing commitment to providing our readers with the very best editorial coverage, today, we are proud to announce Sophie Furley has joined Watchonista!
Originally from the United Kingdom, Sophie made Switzerland her new home in the 1990s. After beginning her writing career walking the United Nations beat for Kyodo News, she soon became fascinated with the art of watchmaking, and she decided to follow her passion.
Sophie’s entrée into the watch industry was with the Geneva-based Roger Dubuis, first as a market coordinator, then as the liaison between the manufacture's Swiss and American branches. After Roger Dubuis, she became managing editor for the world’s leading watch industry trade B2B publication, Europa Star Magazine, and is the co-founder of The Watch Pages. She has also written about watches for numerous publications, including The Times, The New York Observer, and The Hollywood Reporter.
After serving as editor-in-chief of Revolution Switzerland, Sophie joins Watchonista’s growing global editorial team. Led by Marco Gabella in Switzerland and Josh Shanks in the United States, Watchonista’s editorial team brings a breadth and depth of knowledge seldom seen in the watch industry. We are happy to have Sophie on our team and look forward to collaborating with this renowned editor.
