Summer Rewind: Ciao! Our Top Five Italian Watches Of 2019
Our selection of the best summer watches to help you live la dolce vita.
A good rule of thumb: when in doubt, go Italian. Need to bring wine to a dinner party? Italy’s playfully acidic wines pair with almost anything. Need a go-to cocktail? The Negroni is perfectly balanced, easy to make, and easy to order. Need a new suit? You’ll look great in Brioni.
All roads lead to Rome, so we’ve selected our top five Italian watches from this year to help you live la dolce vita (translation: the good life).
Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT
Cased in sandblasted titanium, Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT offers style and performance in an ultra-slim profile. Coming in at just 6.9mm thick, the new Chrono GMT is the thinnest of its kind and it earned Bulgari its fifth world record in the field of low-profile watchmaking.
Anonimo Epurato Automatic
To establish a brand, horological or not, is to create a universe, to convey a message and ethos. Since 1997, Anonimo has created Swiss timepieces with a different spirit, and their Epurato Automatic is a shining example of that. Come along as we discover Anonimo's culture: Italian dolce vita, good tables, great wine, and shared emotions.
Panerai Submersible Bronzo
The original bronze diver debuted in 2011 with the cult classic, Panerai Submersible Bronzo. Now eight years later, the Bronzo is back! The bronze watch craze is in full effect, but collectors will have to scramble for this limited edition as only 20 pieces are slated for production.
Meccaniche Veloci QuattroValvole Nardi Limited Edition
Italian design and Swiss watchmaking combine in Meccanich Veloci's watches. The brand’s limited-edition QuattroValvole Nardi, for example, wraps Swiss engineering in a piston-inspired, mahogany-infused case. In June, we sat down with CEO Cesare Cerrito to talk about cars, watches, and the journey of a young, independent brand.
Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic Carbon
Rounding out our top five list is another Bulgari, but not just any Bulgari. The Octo Finissimo Automatic Carbon uses a <2mm-thick movement and Carbon Thin Ply case to deliver a high-complication watch that’s feather-light, stunning to look at, and with only 50 pieces made, a rarity for collectors.
