Richemont Opens Three Monobrand Boutiques in San Francisco

Watch out, watch-obsessed San Franciscans! There’s a new trio in town. Three of watchmaking’s most prestigious brands: IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and Panerai, have just opened boutiques in the Bay Area.

For their first home in the Golden Gate City, Richemont chose the Westfield San Francisco Center for Panerai and IWC Schaffhausen. Located at the corner of Powell and Market Streets in the Union Square district, the nine-stories high mall is a must-visit shopping destination for luxury brands, restaurants, and entertainment.

And for Jaeger-LeCoultre, Richemont chose Santa Clara’s Westfield Valley Fair for its new boutique. However, the new Jaeger-LeCoultre monobrand boutique won't be alone as several Richemont brands already call it home, including Montblanc, Cartier, IWC, and Panerai.

Dany Levy Wears Cartier on the Red Carpet

Canadian actor and comedian Dan Levy, of Schitt’s Creek fame, has been pulling out all the stops when dressing for 2021’s awards season. As Levy told Vogue.com, this awards season, he aims to choose “clothes that mean something” and “make you smile.”

True to his word, Levy wore a lemon-yellow suit and sequined shirt by Valentino Couture to the Golden Globes that certainly caused some smiles. He paired it with a steel Cartier Santos watch, a simple and strong timepiece that perfectly complemented his suit.

The Critic’s Choice Awards saw Levy turning again to the French jewelry and watch maison. He paired a bold Cartier Tank MC, large model, with a military-style black Dior Homme suit featuring oversized cuffs.

Nick Jonas Take the Omega Speedmaster Back to the Moon

On Thursday, March 11, Nick Jonas released his highly anticipated new music video, Spaceman. In the video, Jonas finds himself alone on what appears to be a deserted planet, battling loneliness and the elements in a stark, inhospitable environment.

According to Jonas, Spaceman is a “cosmic pop odyssey” video, and Jonas’ deliberate choice of Omega’s original moonwatch, the Speedmaster, is a nod to real-life space exploration.

Because of its unfailing timekeeping performance and accuracy, NASA chose the Speedmaster Chronograph for its six lunar voyages. Jonas wears the watch’s newest iteration, the Omega Speedmaster Master Chronometer Canopus Gold, which has a couple of close-up shots in the video. It’s a video worth viewing, from the elaborate sets to the song itself, and for watch buffs, the watch itself.

Breitling Launches New Certified Pre-Owned Subscription Service

Watch subscription programs can be a match made in heaven. Choosing a watch to wear for a while, then moving on to another timepiece without the heavy investment of purchasing certainly has its appeal. Now Breitling is offering a similar service with its certified pre-owned watches, but with a twist. It’s a try-to-buy program.

Called #BreitlingSelect, the subscription program offers a wide array of fully serviced and refurbished pre-owned Breitling timepieces in its collection. And the subscriber can choose up to three watches (to be sent to them one at a time) over 12 months. After paying a one-time fee of $450, the monthly charge is $129, and the watches are delivered directly to your home. If, and when, the subscriber wants to buy the watch they are wearing, the fees they’ve already paid into the program convert to “Squad Points” that will result in a special price offering.

“This is not only a substantial innovation in the watch industry, but also a demonstration of Breitling’s inclusive luxury approach,” Breitling CEO Georges Kern said in a statement. “This program is a natural extension of our ambitious digital strategy, most visible through our thriving e-commerce and our new blockchain-enabled digital passport.”
