Video: Summer Never Ends With Five Custom Hublot x Watchonista Cocktails

This summer, Hublot issued a pentad of highly desirable limited edition Classic Fusion Chronographs devoted to the Mediterranean Sea. Available only in Hublot Boutiques located around, as Ancient Romans would say, the Mare Nostrum (Mare Nostrum is the Latin name for the Mediterranean Sea and means “Our Sea”), these unique boutique editions pay tribute to Mediterranean style.

In the hope that summer will never end, Watchonista offers to take you on a journey across the “Great Sea” from Capri (Italy) to Bodrum (Turkey) with stopovers in Ibiza (Spain), Forte Dei Marmi (Italy), and Mykonos (Greece). And with the help of Dirk Hany, the talented co-founder, mixologist, and soul of the superlative Bar am Wasser in Zürich, Watchonista pairs each of the five Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Editions with five bespoke cocktails dedicated to these five legendary summer locations.

As Hany was conceiving Bar am Wasser, he took inspiration from bar culture to create a place that is a fusion of modern yet classic stylings. Similarly, for over a decade, Hublot has mixed materials, textures, and colors to offer exclusive boutique-only editions that were produced in extremely limited quantities.
 

Known as the European Mecca of clubbing and nightlife, Ibiza was, for decades, primarily frequented by hippies. Today, the island retains both identities – the party destination and the ultimate chilling spot. Thus, with its seconds counter emblazoned with a peace sign and its dark blue ceramic case and bezel, the Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Ibiza is the perfect encapsulation of the island’s split personality.
 

In true nightlife spirit, Champagne is the name of the game for the Watchonista Ibiza Cocktail. In addition to Champagne, it includes bergamot liqueur, London dry gin, and lemon juice.

No less than the tenth Summer Edition dedicated to the Greek isle, the Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Boutique Mykonos celebrates the island’s marvelous sunset by mixing dark blue with gold. An intense pairing, this iteration mixes a satin-finished 5N gold bezel and a dark blue ceramic case and strap. Moreover, its golden indices, counter indications, and hands are tastefully done and extremely readable atop the dark blue dial.
 

As any sophisticated denizen of Mykonos knows, the island always needs to lead trends while also remaining faithful to its own Greek culture. Consequently, Hany adapted his aromatic Forte Dei Marmi cocktail. The Watchonista Mykonos cocktail includes mastiha liqueur infused with pistachio and bergamot, lemon juice, salty honey, Greek yogurt, and pistachios.
